§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Prime Minister what was the United Kingdom's expenditure on the intelligence community in Buenos Aires between March 1981 and March 1982; and how many personnel were involved.
§ The Prime MinisterAs I said in my statement in the House on 18 January, the Government accepted that the references to intelligence matters in the report of the Falkland Islands review committee were necessary for a full understanding of the issues on which the committee was asked to report. That does not, however, invalidate the general rule that such matters should not generally be divulged. I do not, therefore, intend to depart from my practice, following the practice of my predecessors, not to answer questions on security and intelligence matters.
