§ Mr. Heddleasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received from representatives of Mr. K. K. Abrol requesting him to refer the matter of Mr. Abrol's conviction for manslaughter at Stafford Crown court in October 1981 to the Court of Appeal; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MayhewSolicitors instructed by Mr. Abrol have requested my right hon. Friend to refer his case to the Court of Appeal under section 17 of the Criminal Appeal Act 1968, and have indicated that they intend to submit further material in support of this request. When this is available to my right hon. Friend he will consider whether any action is called for on his part.
