asked the Secretary of State for Transport what will be the effect of the Transport Bill on the powers of the metropolitan county councils and the Greater London Council to provide cheap travel for elderly and disabled persons.

None. I very much regret the needless anxiety on this topic caused by some of the misleading advertisements that authorities have chosen to publish. The Bill does not affect the existing powers of authorities to provide for cheap travel for elderly and disabled people.
