§ Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Prime Minister what are the reasons why certain departmental services are provided jointly to the Departments of Trade and of Industry.
§ The Prime MinisterCommon services for the present Departments of Industry and Trade, covering functions such as personnel, management and legal advice, were retained following the division of the former Department of Trade and Industry in March 1974. These arrangements make for the most efficient and effective deployment of resources in support of the work of both Departments.
