§ Dr. David Owenasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking to help with flood relief in Ecuador.
§ Mr. RaisonHer Majesty's Government have this year given emergency aid worth about £42,000 in the form of cash, insecticides, children's clothing and other relief items, and the air freight costs of medical supplies donated by British companies. The European Community has contributed 100,000 ecus (approximately £61,000) from its budget for the local purchase of food. Our share of the budget is about 20 per cent. We are continuing to monitor the situation.
