A review of the organisation and efficiency of the Northern Ireland land registry started in October 1982, with close and helpful advice from the land registry for England and Wales. There has been a substantial reduction in the backlog of work already: I am now considering proposals for eventual computerisation of the operations of the Northern Ireland land registry.
