§ Mr. Alexander FletcherMost pupils with pronounced visual handicap attend special schools or classes and I hope shortly to issue a consultative document suggesting the numbers and qualifications of staff appropriate to these. For pupils in ordinary primary and secondary schools, welcome progress has been made in recent years by education authorities in developing a specialist peripatetic counselling service which helps to ensure that children with partial sight are identified and their needs met.
