§ Mr. Mike Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will place in the Library the figures and calculations from which he derives his estimate that expansion of National Health Service services in real terms between 1978–79 and 1983–84 will be 7½ per cent., distinguishing between expenditure on wages and salaries and non-wage-related items and between the increases necessary to meet, respectively, demographic change, technological development and inflation and any increases attributed to efficiency savings.
