Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement about the levels of boarding-out allowances for foster children and publish in the Official Report the most recent information he has about boarding-out allowances paid by each local authority in England and Wales, for children of varying ages.
§ Mr. NewtonThe levels of boarding out allowances for foster children are at the discretion of individual local authorities. The Department does not collect information centrally on the level of allowances. However, the National Foster Care Association has conducted a survey of the weekly allowances being paid and copies of the findings have been placed in the Library of the House.
