However, as part of a large-scale research programme on transmitted deprivation sponsored jointly by the Department and the Social Science Research Council the effects of childhood experiences on later parenting behaviour have been looked at. It is expected that a report entitled "Childhood Experiences and Parenting Behaviour" will be published later this year.
