§ Mr. RidleyThe latest detailed figures on the size of individual wealth holdings are for 1978. It is estimated that the numbers of individuals with identified wealth in excess of £100,000, £150,000 and £500,000 were then approximately 195,000, 95,000 and 10,000, respectively. These figures are as defined for table 4.13, amended, of "Inland Revenue Statistics 1982", a copy of which is in the Library. There is insufficient information upon which to base estimates relating to larger holdings of wealth.
