§ Mr. MayhewAs I indicated in my reply to questions by the hon. Member on 11 June 1981 and 1 March 1982, the Government think it right to await the outcome of the review by the Criminal Law Revision Committee and the policy advisory committee on sexual offences before reaching conclusions on the need for, and nature of, any432W changes to the law in this area. The Criminal Law Revisions Committee published on 9 December 1982 a working paper inviting comment on its provisional recommendations for possible changes in the law, which include the creation of certain new offences to deal with the accosting of women by men.—[Vol. 6, c. 179, Vol. 19, c. 19.]
