§ Dr. VaughanThe report is published today. The commission has examined the efficiency and costs of Caledonian MacBrayne and has identified a number of key areas where performance can be significantly improved. The commission's priority recommendations are that the company should take urgent action to minimise revenue losses; complete the current market analysis project effectively and as soon as possible; consider a reduction in the fleet; discontinue the present system of discounts for commercial vehicles; and appoint a full-time chief executive.
