asked the Minister for Trade if he will state the number and value of private and commercial vehicles imported from South Africa in 1981 and 1982.

[pursuant to his reply, 21 February 1983, c. 310]: In 1981, 44 motor vehicles with a value of £196,000 cif were imported from South Africa; in the period January to November 1982 the corresponding figures were 3,655 vehicles with a value of £10,153,000 cif.
