§ Mr. Hicksasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether the European Commission has replied to the Government's notification of the proposal to introduce the Fishing Vessels (Temporary Financial Assistance) Scheme 1982 (S.I., 1982, No. 1686).
§ Mr. Peter WalkerWe have been informed by the European Commission that it has decided to initiate the procedure provided for in article 93(2) of the treaty of Rome in respect of this scheme. The scheme is now closed to new applications. Most claims have already been settled and we hope to complete payments in the near future.
