§ 28. Mr. Neil Thorneasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will take account of the special needs of able and gifted children in the instruments implementing the Education Act 1981.
§ Dr. BoysonIf an able or gifted child has or is believed to have special educational needs as defined in the Education Act 1981 it will be the duty of the local education authority to assess those needs and to ensure that special educational provision is made in accordance with the provisions of that Act and the regulations made under it, in the same way as for any other children.
