§ Mr. David Watkinsasked the Secretary of State for Energy what oil stocks are maintained in the United Kingdom under the terms of the International Energy Agency agreements; and how many days of normal consumption they represent.
§ Mr. GrayNone. The International Energy Agency oil stocks requirement is based on net imports and therefore does not affect the United Kingdom. Reserve oil stocks for emergency use are, however, maintained under our obligations to the European Community. Under these the United Kingdom is required to maintain 76½ days of supply based on consumption in the previous calendar year.
