HC Deb 21 February 1983 vol 37 c371W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what payment was made to the West Germans for emergency circuits via Neumayer station, and to the Americans via Palmer station, for radio telephone calls from Brimsfield to Signy and Bird Island; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. William Shelton

Neither the West Germans nor the Americans have asked the British Antarctic Survey for payment for the use of communications facilities via Neumayer or Palmer bases during the South Atlantic conflict.
