HC Deb 21 February 1983 vol 37 c297W
Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will seek to avoid the situation whereby, because of the fact that regional seat boundaries were ratified before most district seat boundaries have been, some electors may in certain circumstances have to vote at two different polling stations.

Mr. Younger

The provision of polling stations is a matter for the returning officer. I understand that an elector may, in certain circumstances, have to vote at different polling stations at different types of election. I do not envisage any problem at the district council elections in May 1984 when new ward boundaries will come into operation in a number of areas.
