§ Mrs. ChalkerSpending on trunk road construction in the northern economic planning region in each of the years 1978–79 to 1981–82 was £11 million, £25 million, £34 million, and £31 million respectively; and, to the end of the third quarter of 1982–83, £24 million. These figures exclude the costs of preparing and supervising the construction of these roads.
