§ Q61. Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Prime Minister what representations Her Majesty's Government have made to the Government of Bangladesh about the policy of that Government towards the multinational drug companies.
§ The Prime MinisterIn August 1982, we expressed concern to the Government of Bangladesh that the way in which they implemented the drugs legislation introduced in June 1982 might harm their industrial policy of encouraging foreign investment. I understand that the British-owned drug companies in Bangladesh have since been consulted about the legislation and have agreed to co-operate in the implementation.
