§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithProvisional estimates suggest that 446,000 tonnes of butter was subsidised on the Community market in 1982, of which 44 per cent. was subsidised on the United Kingdom market. In addition, 92,000 tonnes of New Zealand butter imported into the United Kingdom in 1982 benefited from a levy reduction equivalent to the consumer butter subsidy.
