§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the figures for new businesses started under the 714 schemes since the commencement of the scheme in March 1982 to the latest available date.
§ Mr. RidleyI assume my hon. Friend is referring to the new special certificate for school leavers and certain others. Although the introduction of these certificates was 435W announced in the Chancellor's Budget statement on 9 March 1982, they did not become available until 1 December 1982. Between then and 31 January this year 768 special certificates were issued, all to school leavers.
