§ Mr. Jim Marshallasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list in the Official Report, for the years 1978 to 1981 inclusive, the number of deaths due to fires in multiple-occupied dwellings that were (a) in detached, semidetached or terraced houses and (b) in other buildings.
§ Mr. MellorThe total number of deaths from fires attended by local authority fire brigades in the United Kingdom which were in dwellings in multiple occupation is published annually in "Fire Statistics, United Kingdom"—for example, table 24 of the issue for 1980. Information on the type of dwelling is given in the following table:
