§ Mr. MayhewThe number of Metropolitan police officers employed at any time on these duties varies according to the number of prisoners held and the number of locations used. On 4 February, when 202 remanded and sentenced prisoners were held at 26 locations, 26 sergeants and 90 constables were employed on guarding duties.
