asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, how many industrial locational inquiries have been directed to (a) his Department and (b) the Northern Ireland development agency over the past 12 months.

The Industrial Development Organisation of the Northern Ireland Department of Commerce and the Northern Ireland Development Agency were amalgamated on 1 September 1982 to form the new Industrial Development Board for Northern Ireland.

The total number of firm inquiries from companies about possible investment in Northern Ireland received by these bodies in the year ending 31 December 1982 was 378.
