§ Q39. Mr. Ioan Evansasked the Prime Minister if she will make representations to President Reagan of the United States of America and Mr. Andropov of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics calling for a summit conference to lessen the threat to nuclear war and to end the arms race.
§ The Prime MinisterWe welcomed and supported President Reagan's offer of a summit conference to conclude a treaty on the abolition of an entire class of nuclear missiles. It is disappointing that Mr. Andropov has rejected this offer and still refuses to countenance a balanced agreement.
