§ Mr. AlisonThe underlying increase in average weekly earnings during the three months to November 1982 was about 0.5 per cent. a month. This compares with a monthly average of 0.75 to one per cent. during 1981 and primarily reflects the reduction in the average level of pay settlements between these periods.
