HC Deb 07 February 1983 vol 36 c281W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) how much capital gains tax has been collected in the most recent period for which figures are available from income accruing from underwriters profits used for reinsurance premiums which return income chargeable in the United Kingdom;

(2) if he will make a statement outlining how the Inland Revenue treats for tax purposes the interest earned on overseas reinsurance premiums which is returned to the United Kingdom.

Mr. Ridley

I shall let the hon. Member have a reply as soon as possible.
