§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what resources his Department is providing to fund the study centre on the family.
§ Mr. NewtonThe Department and the Social Science Research Council will share the cost of a grant of up to £90,000 a year for three years, with a possibility of further extension. The exact amount of the grant has still to be fixed. The purpose of the grant is to enable the study centre to continue the valuable work of its predecessor, the study commission on the family.
