HC Deb 04 February 1983 vol 36 c206W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether there is any connection between the Central Electricity Generating Board's nuclear power stations and the manufacture of nuclear weapons.

Mr. John Moore

There is no such connection. No plutonium produced in any of the CEGB's nuclear power stations has ever been used for military purposes in this country, and there are no plans to use it thus in the future. Further, no plutonium from the CEGB nuclear programme has ever been exported for use in weapons.
