Mr. Palmer

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what guidance he has given to the Central Electricity Generating Board on holding additional stocks of ancillary materials needed for the burning of coal in the event of an emergency; and whether the cost will be met by the Central Electricity Generating Board or from public funds.

Mr. John Moore

The stocking of ancillary materials at power stations is a matter for the CEGB, as are the costs involved.
