HC Deb 03 February 1983 vol 36 c172W
Mr. Proctor

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to the answer to the hon. Member for Southend, East (Mr. Taylor) on 24 January, Official Report, c. 287, what is the reason for the increase of £1 million in the amount of current aid committed to Zimbabwe since the answer to the hon. Member for Basildon on 24 May 1982, Official Report, c. 247.

Mr. Rifkind

The increase from £112 million to £113 million in the amount of aid we have pledged to Zimbabwe since Independence is the result of our agreement to provide £1 million from the aid and trade provision in support of a British company's bid for the high pressure pipework contract for the Hwange power station.
