HC Deb 03 February 1983 vol 36 cc185-6W
Mr. Race

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will reconsider the practice of uprating war widows' pensions by percentage sums and replace it by a system of flat rate cash increases applied to all war widows' pensions irrespective of the year of their husband's death; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Rossi

The standard rate war widow's pension is the same for all, regardless of the date of the husband's death. We have no plans to change our method of uprating.
