§ Mr. McCrindleasked the Minister for Trade if he will meet the Director General of Fair Trading to discuss the question of travel agents discounting tour operators recommended prices following the judgment of the restrictive practices court on 20 December 1982; and if he will make a statement.
§ Dr. Vaughan[pursuant to his reply, 21 January 1983, c. 245]: The clause on discounting in the standard agency agreement recommended by the Association of British Travel Agents was among the restrictions the court declared to be contrary to the public interest in its judgment on 20 December. Proceedings in the case are continuing and it would not be appropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
