§ Mr. Arnoldasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, in view of the decision of the Greater Manchester council to increase fares for children using buses serving independent religious schools on the basis that these schools are outside the state system and that the pupils attending these schools should not receive any subsidies, he will issue guidance on the subject to metropolitan counties as distinct from local education authorities.
