asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will report on the progress he is making in his consultations with the Brewers Society on the effectiveness of the code of practice regulating licensed tenancies.

The Brewers Society met the National Union of Licensed Victuallers last November to discuss the voluntary code of practice on tenant security. Both organisations have since written to inform me of measures they have agreed to improve the effectiveness of arrangements for applying the code.
