§ Mr. William WaldegraveThe total revenue income from charges of the nine regional water authorities in 1982–83 was £1,770 million, made up as follows:
£ Million Unmeasured charges 1,296 Measured charges 366 Abstraction charges 20 Trade effluent charges 64 Miscellaneous charges 24 Total 1,770 The term "net revenue" is not clear but the current cost operating profit before interest of the same water authorities in 1982–83 was £290 million.
