HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 c166W
Mr. Meadowcroft

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has received any guidance from nutrition education bodies on the subject of thiamin and calcium replacement in white bread.

Mrs. Fenner

A number of bodies concerned with nutrition and nutrition education have responded to our invitation to comment on our proposals for new bread and flour regulations. These are being considered along with the representations we have received from other interested organisations.

Mr. Meadowcroft

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what administrative, publication and publicity costs have been incurred by his Department in connection with the publication of draft regulations concerning the replacement of calcium and thiamin in bread.

Mrs. Fenner

The information on administrative costs is not readily available. However, I estimate that publication and publicity costs in connection with the issue of proposals for new bread and flour regulations was just under £2,000.
