HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 cc122-3W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to receive the report of the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis on the shooting of Stephen Waldorf; and if it will be published.

Mr. Hurd

My right hon. and learned Friend expects to receive shortly a report on the operational implications of the incident. When it has been received we will be considering whether and to what extent it would be in the public interest to make its contents known.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis is keeping officials in touch with the progress of disciplinary proceedings in the case; I understand that he has recently forwarded a report of the discipline inquiry to the Police Complaints Board. It has never been the practice to publish such reports.
