HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 cc202-3W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what amendments have been made to the S manual by circulars issued since the manual was published;

(2) whether the price of the S manual includes amendments made by circulars issued to local social security offices;

(3) whether the copies of the S manual which members of the public can see at supplementary benefit offices have been amended to take account of circulars issued since the manual was published.

Mr. Newton

Circulars neither amend nor form part of the S manual. Except for transitory material, the provisions of circulars are subsequently incorporated into the manual by means of amendments, the cost of which is included in the price of the manual.
