asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many residential accommodation places are provided by each local authority in Wales for mentally ill and mentally handicapped persons; and if he will express this figure per hundred thousand of the population.

Without a more precise specification of the type of residential accommodation being considered, it is not possible to give a meaningful answer to this question. If, however, the hon. Gentleman is interested in provision for the mentally ill and the mentally handicapped, I refer him to the answer given to his earlier question today on this subject.
