§ 28. Dr. Brayasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has for research and manning in Agricultural and Natural Environment Research Council establishments; and what costs will fall as a result on the Medical and Science and Engineering Research Councils.
§ Mr. BrookePlans for research and manning are primarily a matter for the research councils themselves; both the Agricultural and Food Research Council and the Natural Environment Research Council are formulating plans for the redeployment of resources which will involve a measure of restructuring. The allocations for 1984–85 announced by my right hon. Friend last week involved no transfer of funds from other councils on this account.
