HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 c105W
28. Dr. Bray

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has for research and manning in Agricultural and Natural Environment Research Council establishments; and what costs will fall as a result on the Medical and Science and Engineering Research Councils.

Mr. Brooke

Plans for research and manning are primarily a matter for the research councils themselves; both the Agricultural and Food Research Council and the Natural Environment Research Council are formulating plans for the redeployment of resources which will involve a measure of restructuring. The allocations for 1984–85 announced by my right hon. Friend last week involved no transfer of funds from other councils on this account.
