HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 c202W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received in favour of prices rather than earnings being used as the ceiling for revaluing early leavers' pension rights; and whether any of these representations were made by bodies representing the interests of pension scheme members or pensioners.

Dr. Boyson

The revaluation of early leavers' pension rights in line with increases in prices up to a ceiling of 5 per cent. per annum was advocated by the National Association of Pension Funds in its paper for my right hon. Friend's early leaver conference on September 14. The NAPF represents both employers and employees and the interests of all types of occupational pension arrangements in the public and private sectors.
