§ Mr. Beaumont-Darkasked the Prime Minister whether she will list the current membership of the four pay review bodies, together with any recent changes of appointment.
§ The Prime MinisterMr. Andrew Leggatt, QC, resigned from the Top Salaries Review Body in 1982 on his appointment as a High Court Judge. He has been replaced by Mr. Andrew Morritt, QC. Sir Robin Ibbs has recently been appointed as an additional member.
Dr. Ewen M'Ewen, CBE, and Sir John Read have retired recently from the Armed Forces Pay Review Body. Mr. Michael Bett and Sir Richard Cave, MC, have been appointed as replacements. Mr. David Hudson was appointed a member in August 1982 to replace Mr. Michael Heron.
Sir Peter Menzies and Sir William Slimmings, CBE, have retired from the Doctors and Dentists Review Body. Mrs. Anne Hogg, Mr. John Kirkpatrick and Mr. David Richards have been appointed as replacements and also to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Mrs. Angela Rumbold, CBE, MP, in April 1982.
The Government are very grateful to all retiring members for the valuable work they have done during their service with the review bodies.
Appointments have also recently been announced of the members of the new Review Body for Nursing and Midwifery Staff and Professions Allied to Medicine under the Chairmanship of Sir John Greenborough, KBE.
