§ Mr. Steelasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he plans to amend the provisions of the British Nationality Act 1981 to give to a mother born, naturalised or registered in the United Kingdom or an existing colony, the same rights to pass her citizenship by descent to her legitimate children as those enjoyed by a father in the same position.
§ Mr. WaddingtonUnder the British Nationality Act 1981, women who are British citizens or British dependent territories citizens, can pass on their citizenship to their children born on or after 1 January 1983.
