HC Deb 19 December 1983 vol 51 c49W
Ms. Harman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are his Department's current policies on the use of circular 37/72; what financial allocation he will make under this circular in each of the financial years 1983–84, 1984–85 and 1985–86; whether applications under the circular have to meet any conditions other than those specified in the circular; and, in particular, whether his Department will accept applications under the circular for the funding of day centres and resettlement works.

Mr. Newton

Circular 37/72 is still current. Applications made under it would be looked at on their merit in the context of the resources available for general support for voluntary organisations, taking account also of local authority responsibilities under the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act 1977 which was subsequently enacted.
