Lord Chelwoodasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether they are satisfied that effective machinery exists for regular consultation between the European Community and the United States, with regard both to short- and long-term policies and to contingency plans in the Middle East; that the Community view has not only been forcefully expressed but taken fully into account; and whether they have any proposals for improvement.
§ Baroness YoungYes. We and our partners in the Ten regularly exchange views about the Middle East with the United States both bilaterally and through the Presidency. I am satisfied that the United States Government fully understand our point of view.
