HC Deb 19 December 1983 vol 51 c40W
Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what feasibility studies are in hand to consider the provision of new facilities at Rosyth dockyard for the future refits of nuclear submarines; and what is the estimated cost of providing such facilities.

Mr. Lee

Nuclear submarine refitting facilities at Rosyth have been in use for some time and replacement must be planned. Accordingly, preliminary studies are being carried out at Rosyth. A first report has been received from the Property Services Agency and is being studied. They are not yet at a stage where costs can be estimated.
