§ Mr. Frank Cookasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list those sites authorised by the Welsh Office for the disposal of radioactive waste in the past year under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960; from which specified premises; for which specified wastes; and if he will list the owners of each of the sites.
§ Mr. Nicholas Edwards[pursuant to his reply, 5 December 1983, c. 23]: Authorisations for the disposal of radioactive wastes issued by the Welsh Office under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960 relate to the disposal of those wastes from specified premises and not to disposal sites. Authorisations to dispose of small quantities of solid radioactive waste given during the past year relate to one university, three hospitals and four companies. The wastes include carbon 14 and tritium. In addition there has been 11 amendments to existing authorisations.
